ZIM Lab announces approval for Vitamin D3 Orally Disintegrating Film

It gives us immense pleasure in informing you that our product, 'Vitamin D3 Orally Disintegrating Strips 60,000 IU' has been approved for manufacturing and marketing in India (Form46) by DCG(I).

With this, the number of approved products in our basket is now Thirty-One. Now, ZIM can manufacture and market Vitamin D3 Orally Disintegrating Strips in two strengths 2000 and 60,000 IU.

Orally dissolving film dosage form has numerous advantages over the available dosage forms of Vitamin D3 in India, like, tablets, granules, powder, soft gelatine capsules, syrup, drops, etc. The advantages are -

a) These films are not required to be swallowed. These are simply placed on the tongue where they get dissolved instantaneously.

b) Unlike liquid dosage form, precision in dosage is there.

c) Thin flat, flexible films, individually packed in a sachet offer ease of handling, storage, transportation and administration to the consumer as compared to other solid and liquid dosage forms.

d) These films do not involve complex and expensive manufacturing process like that of soft gelatine capsules.

Thinoral® technology, ZIM's patient technology yields instantly wettable, rapidly dissolving, non-sticky, non-tacky, and non-curving Orally Disintegrating Films. In this technology special treatment is given to molecules that are moisture and heat sensitive. Many of oral thin film based products of ZIM Laboratories employ the use of this patented technology.
