ZIM Laboratories Limited announces approval for Rizatriptan Orally Disintegrating Film


ZIM Laboratories Limited, India announces approval for manufacturing and marketing of their product ‘Rizatripatn Orally Disintegrating Strip’ (ODS). The company is first in India to get approval for this product. With this approval ZIM’s number of approved products in fast dissolving Oral Thin Film form has reached to Twenty Six. The approval was given on the basis of bioequivalence studies against MAXALT MLT Orally Disintegrating Tablets.

The product will be a boon to patients suffering from migraine which is invariably associated with nausea and vomiting. During the migraine attack, patient is under huge distress and ingestion of anything triggers emesis. Thin films of Rizatriptan manufactured using Thinoral® technology dissolves quickly when kept in mouth and does not require water for its administration. Thus, these films offer the convenience to patient and take care of fast relief from migraine symptoms.

Thinoral® technology yields instantly wettable, rapidly dissolving, non-sticky, non-tacky, and non-curving films.
